Fenugreek is an annual, herbaceous plant. The fruits are horn-shaped, narrow pods with 10-20 seeds in each. All parts of the plant smell strongly spicy. Fresh shoots and dried seeds are used as a spice, either pure or in various mixtures with other spices. Fenugreek seeds are a solid ingredient of curry found in many different shades, especially in India. Here the fenugreek seeds are whole and can i.a. used for tea extracts or for tonic and bitter mixture.

1½- tsp. seeds are ingested with liquid for each main meal. Can be used internally and externally. Not suitable for germination.
