It is recommended by the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration to start taking folic acid already when you are planning a pregnancy and up to 12 weeks inside the pregnancy. Folic acid plays a role in the closure of the fetal neural tube during pregnancy. Folic acid is a water-soluble B vitamin. Solgar's Folic Acid contains 400 folg of folic acid in tablet form.
