Mega C-1500 is a white tablet that contains ascorbic acid formulated as a depot tablet which is released slowly. Mega C-1500 is a powerful vitamin product that is used to prevent and treat vitamin C deficiency. Vitamin C is an important antioxidant in the body and if the system is stressed, there will be a need for extra vitamin C which is water soluble. The product is approved by the Danish Medicines Agency.

Daily dose

1 tablet daily. Should not be used in children under 12 years of age without a doctor's prescription.

Mega C 1500 "Scanpharm". Strong vitamin preparation for the prevention and treatment of vitamin C deficiency. 1 prolonged-release tablet contains 1500 mg of vitamin C as ascorbic acid. Vitamin C increases iron uptake and supplements should therefore not be used by people with iron deficiency diseases. Should not be used by people with a tendency to kidney stones, with impaired kidney function or glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency. Contains lactose. Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction: Dobutamine - Ascorbic acid delays the oxidative degradation of dobutamine and may enhance the effect of dobutamine. Ciclosporin - Concomitant treatment with ciclosporin and antioxidants (eg high dose vitamins C and E) may decrease the plasma concentration of ciclosporin. Iron-binding agents: Co-administration of deferoxamine increases the effect of this. This can lead to cardiac treatment complications, which is why ascorbic acid intake should be avoided during the first 2 weeks of deferoxamine treatment. Caution should also be exercised when co-administering deferiprone and vitamin C. Larger doses of vitamin C may affect the management of anticoagulation therapy. Packing: 30 and 80 pcs.
