Fenugreek is an annual, herbaceous plant. The fruits are horn-shaped, narrow pods with 10-20 seeds in each. All parts of the plant smell strongly spicy. Fresh shoots and dried seeds are used as a spice, either pure or in various mixtures with other spices. Fenugreek seeds are a solid ingredient of curry found in many different shades, especially in India. Here the fenugreek seeds are crushed and can be used as a spice or consumed as a tea.
