Dietary supplement with fermented turmeric root from Solaray. Fermentation is a way of preserving our food that has been used for millennia. The word 'fermentation' is derived from Latin and means 'to bring to ferment'. Fermentation is done by microorganisms such as lactic acid bacteria or yeast cells. A wide range of known products such as cheese, alcohol and bread are made using fermentation. Fermentation of turmeric takes place at resp. saccharomyces boulardi and Lactobacillus plantarum. By fermenting the entire root, as many as 13 easily accessible curcuminoids are retained. Curcumin from turmeric contributes to the flexibility of the joints.
