The krill oil comes from MSC-certified fisheries. • High content of omega-3 fatty acids • Made with minimal processing • A long-term sustainable product The krill oil in 0-KRILL is derived from krill harvested in the Antarctic Ocean using an MSC-certified capture method that ensures krill remain a valuable resource also for future generations. The MSC's certification program for fisheries and eco-labeling of seafood recognizes and rewards sustainable fishing. Together with experts and researchers from around the world, MSC has developed standards for sustainable fishing and traceability of seafood. The two standards form the core of MSC's work and ensure that MSC - labeled seafood comes from and can be traced all the way back to the sustainable fishery that has caught them. MSC certification is based on 3 principles: • Principle 1 - Sustainable fish stock The fishing activities must be at a level that is sustainable for the fish stock. A certified fishery must operate in a way that allows fishing to continue indefinitely and it must not over-consume resources. • Principle 2 - Minimizing the environmental impact Fisheries must be managed in such a way that the ecosystem on which the fishery depends retains its structure, productivity, function and versatility. • Principle 3 - Efficient management Like all other fisheries, MSC-certified fisheries must comply with all local, national and international laws. But as an additional requirement, MSC-certified fisheries must have a management system in place that can be adapted to changing circumstances and maintain sustainability.
