Warm golden milk

Maybe you've heard of "Golden Milk"? - as the name suggests, this is the most beautiful yellow latte-like drink. The yellow color is turmeric, and in addition the drink contains warming ginger, vanilla and cardamom, creamy coconut milk and more. A perfect drink for cold fingers.

Recipe:

Portion: 2 LARGE GLASS  Estimated time: 15 MINUTES   You will need:
  • 20-25 g ginger, peeled weight
  • 10 g turmeric, peeled weight
  • 1 unsprayed lemon
  • 2 dl water
  • 2 dl coconut milk
  • 2 dl unsweetened almond milk
  • 3 grind black pepper
  • ½ tsp vanilla powder
  • 1 teaspoon crushed cardamom
  • 1 pinch Himalayan salt
  • ½-1 tbsp cold-slung honey

Here's how you do it:

Peel the ginger and turmeric. Rinse the lemon and finely grate the lemon peel into a blender. Add the rest of the ingredients except the honey, and blend for a minute.   Heat the drink almost to boiling point, let it cool to approx. 42 ° C, stir the honey into it and enjoy it immediately.   If you do not have the patience to wait to stir honey in, or do not go so high in the health properties of the honey, then just blend it with in the first place, and heat it all up together.       Coconut milk has for many years been reviled for its high content of saturated fat, which the researchers feared could cause atherosclerosis. However, the fear has proven to be completely unfounded, and today we know that the saturated fat in coconut milk is of a type which is harmless to the circuit. In well-balanced amounts that take into account the highs of milk calorie content, you are therefore welcome to use coconut milk in your cooking.     The recipe is kindly lent from Muusman, from the book Ginger by Martin Kreutzer and Sandra Pugliese.
