The chestnut tree was already widespread in Central and Southern Europe thousands of years ago, and it is believed that it was the Romans who brought the tree to Northern Europe.
In the Middle Ages, the chestnut played a major role in the household, especially during the cold winter months.
Chestnut flour, on the other hand, was used throughout the year. Chestnuts contain sugar, proteins and fat and are therefore a filling supplement for a lean winter diet.
Our organic chestnut flour can be used for all kinds of baked goods and pancakes and it adds a delicate taste.
