Cosmoveda, Ayurveda Black Salt, 100 g

The black salt is heated according to an old Ayurvedic method together with haritaki and amla fruits for several hours in heavy clay jars. The fruit ingredients combined with the salt become Kala Namak - as the black salt is also called - and have a smoky, characteristic note reminiscent of the taste and aroma of Asafoetida.

In Indian cuisine, it is mainly used for Dal dishes, fruit salads, chutneys and raitas. Also tastes good as a sprinkle on eggs and avocado and food in general.
